Graduated from Texas A & M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Worked in mixed practices, small and exotic animal practices in the Dallas Fort Worth area for ten years. During that time, owned a practice and provided medical, surgical and behavioral care for dogs, cats, small exotic pets and miniature pigs.

Completed a three year residency in Clinical Animal Behavior at UC Davis in 2003 and was Board Certified in that year by the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists. Currently speak at veterinary continuing education meetings around the country and write for several different veterinary journals.

Have a special interest in captive wild animals and consult with zoo and lab animal veterinarians.
