Dr. Melissa Bain graduated from University of Illinois, and practiced in small animal and mixed animal practices in Chicago and Wisconsin for 4 years before entering into the Behavior Residency Program at University of California-Davis.
She became board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists in 2001, and is currently Service Chief of the Clinical Animal Behavior Service at UC Davis, where she mentors residents and students via teaching, research, and clinical case management.
Currently she serves as President of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists, and she is an immediate past president of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior. Her primary interests surround the human-animal bond, prevention and treatment of problem behaviors in companion animals, and education methodologies.
