Dr. Gary Landsberg is a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario. He is a partner in two companion animal practices in Thornhill, Ontario (in the Greater Toronto Area), Doncaster Animal Clinic and Steeles Veterinary Service where he sees cases both in his general practice as well as on a referral basis as a veterinary behaviorist. Dr. Landsberg is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists and has served on their executive board as president in 2004-2006 and past president in 2006-2008. He has also served as president of the Toronto Academy of Veterinary Medicine, as a conference coordinator for the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association and as chair of the professional development committee of the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association. He has been a mentor for a number of student externships as well as for the behavioral specialty training of two veterinarians, one who has now completed her board certification in veterinary behavior. He is co-author of the Handbook of Behavior Problems of the Dog and Cat, now in its 2nd edition, from Saunders / Elsevier, a CD of 83 behavior client handouts from Lifelearn and series of behavioral client handouts from the American Animal Hospital Association. Dr. Landsberg was also the co-editor of two TFH publications Cat Behavior and Training and Dog Behavior and Training. In total, he has authored or co-authored over 50 publications including journal publications and chapters in veterinary texts. He is a consultant for a number of veterinary journals, for PetTV, and numerous other companies including CANCOG, a company that investigates aging, learning and memory and potential treatments for pets and humans, and for the Veterinary Information Network, a consulting service for veterinarians.

Dr. Landsberg is a frequent speaker at veterinary conferences around the world including numerous local, provincial and state associations as well as, to name a few, the World Small Animal Veterinary Conferences in Berlin and Vancouver, the Canadian, American and Australian Veterinary Medical Associations, the North American, Western States and American Animal Hospital Associations, and at seminars in Japan, Greece, Italy, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

Dr. Landsberg has also been very active in all aspects of media from print interviews to feature articles as well as radio and TV interviews across Canada and the United States. He has also hosted his own TV show on the Life Network in Canada, Free for the Asking – Pets and a call in radio show on CFRB in Toronto. Dr. Landsberg was the recipient of the 2000 AAHA "Friskies" Award for excellence in companion animal behavior.
